About Jo Askey – Jo Askey is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer living and working in Cheshire. After returning to study in 2005 she discovered digital art, a medium that she fell in love with. Jo is inspired by many things including early poster art, fashion and typography. One of her earliest childhood memories is of clutching a crayon in her hand and trying to draw the perfect rainbow. Jo Askey designs for the moo.com designer range and her prints are available to purchase from her Etsy Shop and her Folksy Shop.
1. How do you describe your work?
My artwork is a quirky mix of contemporary and retro. My artwork reflects my love of detail and surface pattern, delicate lines and blocks of colour.
2. What are your inspirations in your art and life?
Like most people, I have many inspirations, but generally I am inspired by my two kids, architecture, typography, textiles, nature…everything really.
3. What do you do to help feed your soul?
I *try* to grow vegetables (feeds my soul and my family!) and I love to spend time with my kids getting my ‘hands dirty’ painting, drawing and sticking.

1. How do you describe your work?
Let’s see, I would describe my work as bright, childish and happy with a tiny retro twist.
2. What are your inspirations in your art and life?
I am inspired by my baby, by nature, as well as everyday life. Really anything visually stimulating to me can inspire me, it can be something obviously beautiful like the beach an a sunny day or bright flowers, to something as simple and everyday as funny old teapots. Also color anywhere or on anything inspires me. I love bright, happy colors.
3. What do you do to help feed your soul?
To feed my soul I do artwork! I also get out in nature.
