DIY Faux Ethched Glass Candleholders and Ornaments

Faux etched glass.

I’ve seen this technique before and have even played around with it using acrylic paint and a paintbrush, but I didn’t like how that turned out. Well, I finally came across these oil-based Sharpie makers that make all the difference in the world. I’ve read about people using them, but I could never find them–and then I decided to re-do our master bathroom. “What’s that got to with anything,” you ask? Well, long story short, I’ve been spending a LOT of time at the home improvement box store and finding all sorts of goodies that I *NEED*. I discovered these Martha glitter paints on one trip and on another trip, I came across the Oil-based Sharpies while looking for joint compound. I must admit, this bathroom remodel is starting to get expensive…

Anyway, since I bought these markers (which are perfect for glass, wood and other difficult sources to draw on), I’ve been drawing on everything I can get my hands on. If you want to purchase your own, try the paint department at your neighborhood home improvement store…and have fun!
