Holiday Heap of Indie Craftiness!

December 08, 2009

I went to the Holiday Heap indie craft show in Baltimore this past Saturday, which was put on by the Charm City Craft Mafia. I bought quite a few holiday gifts (which I will not mention yet) and a few things for myself.  I’ve included a few highlights below.

12 Days of Indie Holiday Shopping 2009 – Slaughterhead

December 03, 2009

12days2009logo2.jpg

Slaughterhead is today’s 12 Days of Indie Holiday Shopping featured shop. Slaughterhead makes fun & functional wallets and pouches for both guys and girls from animal-friendly vinyl lined with re-purposed fabrics. I must confess that I own a Super Jumbo Slaughterhead Wallet and it is one of most prized possessions…it’s both visually appealing and very practical, which is just perfect for me.

Whether are you are gift buying for girls, guys or both, a Slaughterhead wallet or pouch would make a great gift choice. Besides the super jumbo, there’s the regular jumbo,  the 5 or 7 pocket bifold wallets (a great choice for guys) & the whatnot pouches (perfectly sized for  a clutch) to choose from.

Which one is perfect for you or for your giftees?  Leave a comment below for your chance to win a winner’s choice wallet or pouch up to $72.

To win: Leave a comment below with your favorites for yourself or your gift recipients from Slaughterhead. Multiple entries will be accepted, but you must leave a comment for each entry, i.e. if you find 3 favorites, then leave 3 separate comments. This will increase your chances for winning

I will choose one random commenter to win a a winner’s choice wallet or pouch up to $72. This contest ends December 4th at 11:59 pm EST.

The entry period for this contest has ended, please stay tuned for the announcement of the winner.

November 30, 2009

12days2009logo2.jpg

Hey kids, I’m back from my holiday break. I know I said I would post last Friday, but I was just enjoying my break too much hanging out with family & friends. I am back at work today though and ready to bring you the next 12 Days of Indie Holiday Shopping shop & giveaway.

Supermaggie is a 12 Days of Indie Holiday Shopping alumnus, having been involved since the beginning, and their original artist created tee designs are among the most unique & popular around. They are hands down my favorite tee shirt shop and I am also loving the new cropped leggings for women. You will also find plenty of designs for men as well as the most amazing felted scarves at Supermaggie.

I’m sure you will love Supermaggie as much as me (if you don’t already) and I’m also sure that you would love to win a $50 gift certificate for your yourself (or if you are generous, some lucky giftee).

To win: Leave a comment below with your favorite Supermaggie goodies. Multiple entries will be accepted, but you must leave a comment for each entry, i.e. if you find 3 favorites, then leave 3 separate comments. This will increase your chances for winning!

I will choose one random commenter to win the prize. This contest ends December 1st at 11:59 pm EST.

The entry period for this contest has ended, please stay tuned for the announcement of the winner.

Back to School Guide 2009 – Pixx from Amy the intern

August 26, 2009

btsg09logo.jpg

Amy the intern shares her Back to School pixx today. Amy is actually going back to school at Northwestern later in September, so she may actually have a use for some of the goods she chose to feature…as opposed to me, who has been out of school for a little while, but just loves the back to school theme! ;)

You can see my pixx on Day 1 of the Guide Here and Cool Mom Picks pixx on Day 2 Here.

She’s got moxie: Moxie & Oliver giveaway!

July 06, 2009

moxieandolvercollage.jpg

I shoulda known that Caitlin of Moxie & Oliver was a former professional photographer because her photographs of her leather tooled and embellished accessories are awesome.  And although it was the perfect staging, lighting & quality of her photos that caught my eye, it was the colors, detailing, motifs and fresh approach to western-styled leather that kept my attention.

Caitlin’s work is an incorporation of traditional leather techniques, but given a modern twist.  Made with thick tooling leather, which is stiff at first but does soften, her goods will last a lifetime and as a result are meant to be fashionable but not ‘trendy’. Choose from belts, bags, watch bands, wallets, clutches, flasks, phone cases and more. Good to treat yourself or for a special gift for either a guy or girl!

Head on over to Moxie & Oliver and pick out your favorites…you could be entered to win a moxielicious winner’s choice wristlet from the selection below!

How to win!

Visit the Moxie & Oliver shop, choose your favorites from the shop and leave a comment with your favorite products from the shop. One random commenter will be chosen to win their choice of the wristlets shown below. Since I am quite sure that you will not be able to pick just one favorite, you may share each of your faves, but please leave a multiple comment for each one. That will increase your chances of winning! This giveaway will end Friday, July 10th at 11:59 pm EST.
