Figs & Ginger is awesome!

So, remember I told you I bought this necklace from Figs and Ginger at the Art Star Craft Bazaar? Well, while I was chatting with Elijah of F & G, he offered an exclusive coupon code just for Indie Fixx readers. Sweet, huh? I thought you might like that. ;)

Save 15% off with the code IndieFixx over at Figs and Ginger until July 2nd. Be sure to let me know what you get too!

Some ad bizness: Recession Advertising Sale

recessionadvertisingsale1.jpg

Some advertising business to take care of…

I know ad budgets are stretched thin right now and gawd knows I don’t write Indie Fixx to get rich (I just try to help pay those bills), so I am offering some ad specials. I also expect good karma. ;)

I’m offering Spring Galleria spots for only $30 (on sale from $50). Plus, if you reserve a banner ad on Indie Fixx for May or June as well, a Galleria spot is only $25. That’s a steal, people. The Spring Galleria will run from April 29th to June 10th and you must apply by April 22nd.

I am also having a banner sale for ads on Indie Fixx. Buy one banner and get another month for 1/2 price. It’s my own BOGO sale. Offer only for BTF May & June banners.

For more info and stats, you can read more on my advertising page. You can also email me for more info. With this crazy recession, I wish I could offer advertising for free, but I still need to make a little money myself and keep myself self-employed.

The Indie Fixx Shop: Going out of business!

closingupshop.jpg

I have some sad news news about the Indie Fixx Shop….I have decided to close up shop. This is not a decision that I have made lightly, but one I have agonized over. Opening a boutique has been a dream of mine ever since I was a little girl. Other girls played house and school while I played shop. As I got older, I decided that one day I would open my own shop. This goal only strengthened as I started my own jewelry line (tiltingswiftly.com), and later Indie Fixx the blog, as did my interest in helping to promote other indie artists. My goal was to open an online boutique and later a brick and mortar shop. With the opening of the Indie Fixx Shop in 2007, I was finally able to bring my plan to fruition.

Right out of the gate, the Shop was successful and I have been very, very busy ever since the opening. That’s the problem, the Shop was too successful. Running a online shop is a very labor intensive endeavor and other aspects of my life had begun to suffer as a result. Over the holiday break, I did some soul searching and decided that I needed to prioritize my personal and professional life to reclaim some of my time. I sat down and made pro vs. con lists and really looked at how I was spending my time. Unfortunately, the shop came up as the big time hog. A difficult decision had to be made, so I decided to close the shop.

The official last day of the Indie Fixx Shop will be March 15th and I am having a Going Out of Business Sale until then, or at least until my goods sell out. Starting today, everything is on sale from 10% - 50% off and no coupon code is necessary. Plus, every order will receive a free Chocolate Bon Bon Soap, while supplies last.

Visit the Shop and take this opportunity to shop one last time for yourself & your family & friends. Stock up for those upcoming birthdays, hostess gifts, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and all those future gift-giving situations.

Finally, thank you to all my artists, designers and customers for believing in and supporting the shop. I love you all.

Illness of Doom 2008/2009, contest updates & insane sale at the Indie Fixx Shop

I’m not officially back from my holiday break, that will happen on Monday the 5th. I am actually still recuperating from the phlegm illness of doom that I contracted back in 2008. Way to ring in the new year, right?

I just wanted to update you on a few contests and let you know about the 2009 Clearance Sale going on at the Indie Fixx Shop though.

First off, congrats to Laura from PA for winning the Indie Fixx Holiday Card Giveaway. Mr. Indie Fixx pulled Laura’s card out of a bag of all the entries…it must have been those marbles. Thanks to all who entered, I will try to remember to take a shot of all the cards I received when I take down my holiday decorations.

Also,  congrats to Michelle from Illinois who won the Giftastic Giveaway from Chronicle Books.

Finally, before I crawl back in bed with a cup of tea, my fuzzy socks and Arrested Development—I’m having a blow-out 2009 Clearance Sale at the Indie Fixx Shop.  There’s tons of goodies that are already marked down 10% -35% off, and on top of that, use the coupon code 2009indie to take an additional 20% off your order!  That’s what I call insane savings.

So, head on over and use that Christmas cash to treat yourself, start shopping for next Christmas or get a head start on those upcoming birthdays!
