So, I’m not feeling inspired right now. Honestly, sometimes writing and editing a daily blog can be a challenge. It’s like you are always on, you know what I mean? I constantly have to come up with ideas about what to blog about….and since it’s mostly a one-women-show around here (except for my sensational guest bloggers) all those ideas need to come from me. And then I need to implement those ideas, either myself or find some guest bloggers who can help bring them to life.
I don’t want to sound whiny, but today I’m just not feeling it. I’m like, “Ugh! Let my brain take a break already.” And it’s actually not that I don’t have any ideas—I have tons of ideas—but I lack the will or ambition to bring them to life. I have an editorial calendar, manilla folders filled with magazine tears, Firefox bookmark folders out the wazoo, inspiration boards, journals, sketchbooks, hipstamatic photos, a pinterest account, a bajillion flickr contacts and groups and have copious notes on legal pads and scraps of paper galore filled with ideas.
It’s just that nothing is speaking to me….I know someone out there must know what I’m talking about out there.
Is this thing on?
Anyway, today’s post is really nothing more than a post about how I’m not really blogging about anything today because I don’t feel like it. And you are going to have to be satisfied with that.
Oh, there are some pictures too.
xoxo and see you on Monday with a better attitude!

I love the Indie Fixx Flickr Group. It’s a great place for inspiration and eye candy and I find myself visiting at least a couple of times a week to see the latest submissions.
Here’s some of the latest pics that caught my eye.

Why don’t you join us and share your latest pics?
One of the things I did over my 3 day weekend was go on a hike in the woods mushroom hunting…not really for the purpose of foraging mushrooms to eat, but for photographing them. It’s actually one of things on my Summer Fun To-Do List and I promise I will share more about my mushroom hinting later, but for now this post is about my Summer Fun To-Do List.
Every summer, since I was a kid, I’ve planned out a summer wishlist of fun stuff that I want to do before the summer passes away yet again. I’ve never completed a Summer Fun To-Do List…summer always runs out before I can get to everything. Some things are saved for next year’s list and others are just the stuff of forgotten dreams of summers past.
There are plans that make it to every year’s list and that get checked off every year. Living an hour away from some of the best beaches on the Eat Coast, I pretty much love the beach and make sure to visit at least once a season. Sometimes we stay at the beach in a rented house, sometimes we camp and other times we just visit for the day, but we never miss a summer of visiting the ocean.
What about you? Do you have a Summer Fun To-Do List? If so, do you write down your list in your journal or make a list that lives on a bulletin board?
For me, I usually just keep it all in my head and it’s made up of the stuff of my imagination.
But, I decided to make a list to share with you some of the plans I have the rest of this summer….
All this week I’ve been working on putting together issue #5 of Joie magazine….you’ve probably seen my calls for contributors. I’ve had a lot of eponse from writers, but I am really looking for ore photographers to create photo essays and artists to illustrate some of the articles and provide background artwork as well. So, if you are an artist or a photographer, get in touch if you want more info on contributing. Email me at jen@indiefixx.com.
One of the photographers from the last issue is Sade Williams. Sade is a fashion and editorial photographer based in L.A. and she’s actually contributed to two issues of Joie now, but I really love her shoot for issue #4. It’s so dreamy. Take a look for yourself….
Here’s a fashion video from the shoot as well.
And here’s some of Sade’s latest work…just lovely.

I’ve recently joined the masses of people who own an iPhone. I’ve had a string of really bad luck with phones, my last 3 phones have been total pieces of crap and my last phone was even on some lists for the worst phones of 2010. It actually started randomly rebooting itself…about 20 times a day, which made it pretty much worthless. Faced with choosing another nightmare, I decided to go with a phone that’s among the most popular, hoping that would work in my favor, and so I chose the iPhone. I’ve been in a haze of free (and some not so free) apps ever since. Plus, it’s really freaking nice to been able to get through a call without my phone rebooting itself.
Among my favorite apps are the photography ones–Instagram and Hipstamatic are the ones I’ve been playing around with the most. Readymade magazine actually has an article this month about the best iPhone photography apps and I’m planning on checking those out as well.
Here’s some of my recent Hipstamatic images (I think a couple are Instagrams too). All images were taken around my home.
