Hello! My name is Shannon and I’m the summer intern for Jen at Indie Fixx. Although this job is all done online, I’m from the Detroit area in Michigan. When I’m not working (I do that a lot), I’m spend my time
painting, drawing, writing, crafting, modeling and doing all sorts of other creative projects. My most recent kick is interior decorating.

For my debut post, I’ve put together an outfit for Indie Style 101 for you today. I love this outfit because it’s the best of both worlds: modern, and vintage! What more could you ask for? The simple dress makes a statement, while all of the other feminine accessories give it a subtle touch.

This Indie Style 101 outfit brings handmade pieces, natural resources and a closet basic into play.

Nothing is more perfect that a comfy, cozy dress. I like choosing basic colors and classic pieces allowing for a blank canvas to decorate with my favorite accessories. This long-sleeved maxi dress is perfect for a lunch with the girls, a shopping run in town or an evening dinner date with your guy. A turquoise stone necklace adds such a great pop of color to the dark gray. And, the natural wooden watch and platforms provide texture to the whole outfit. I love incorporating nature into my ensemble. Grab a sleek clutch and you’re ready for whatever the day brings!
