TGIF: Thank God for Illustration Friday - Here’s to simpler Fridays!

tgif2.jpg

I know I’ve missed TGIF: Thank God for Illustration Friday 2 weeks in a row, but it’s back this week! Fridays for some reason have been run-around-like-a-crazy-woman days lately and I’m not really liking that trend. Besides leaving me feeling frazzled, it means you have missed your TGIF posts unless I was able to write one the day before.

So, today I’d like to share an artist with you who’s work really helps combat frazzley days. Terese Bast’s sweetly magical & whimsical illustrations just make you stop a moment and contemplate simpler times. Her work really brings a smile to my face and I hope it brings one to your face as well.

I’m very happy to share selected prints from Terese in the Indie Fixx Shop.

Springtacular in Philly tomorrow!

****Edited

Oops!  I won’t be able to make the Springtacular as I previously wrote.  Have a great day to all those who attend!

The Indie Fixx Shop is going to be at the Springtacular in Philly tomorrow on the Liberties Walk in Northern Liberties…weather permitting. It’s actually looking like it’s gonna to be a pretty nice day weatherwise, maybe a little wonkyness in the morning but clearing up for the afternoon. In addition to all kinds of vendors (also including Little Flower Designs), there’s going to be music, eats and $3 Mojitas. Oh yea, I am so there! Too bad, I gotta woman the booth!

Come on out and say, “hi!” Everyone who mentions the blog will receive an Indie Fixx button!

TGIF: Thank God for Illustration Friday - Melissa Moss: new artist in the Indie Fixx Shop

I’d like to share the work of Melissa Moss with you this week for TGIF: Thank God for Illustration Friday. After leaving the publishing world, Melissa studied color psychology and through her studies discovered her love for paining. It’s not surprising then that color features very prominently in Melissa’s work. In addition to the vibrant and lovely color combos, I find that I am really drawn to the content of her paintings. Melissa creates a surreal abstract world and evokes a very clear emotional response with each painting.

I am really very happy to report that I am now carrying selected Melissa Moss paper prints in the Indie Fixx Shop. Melissa offers wood prints in her shop.

betsyross_ifs2.jpg

Hallelujah, finally some patterns for those of us without advanced degrees in Greek, Calculus, & Rocket Science! Easy to understand & just so simple & direct, the patterns from Betsy Ross Patterns are just the thing you’ve been looking for to stick your big toe in the proverbial sewing pond. I am no great one for following directions and I certainly can be described as ’sewing challenged’ and I totally love these patterns. Perfect for first-time sewers and fairly new sewers and still fun and customizable enough for more advanced stitchers.

That’s the good news….the even better news is that I am now carrying select Betsy Ross Patterns in the Indie Fixx Shop. There are three different bag styles (tote, shoulder, and clutch) and two skirt (a-line and circle) patterns available. All the available patterns are ‘1 out of 3′ stars on the difficulty level scale. Easy-peesey!
