Today is the last day of  ‘Best of Indie Bath & Body’.  I asked indie bath & body sellers to send me samples and over the last 6 weeks or so,  I have been sharing my pixx (and the other 2 judges pixx) with you, 2-3 categories at a time. Best Indie Cosmetics Winners!

Melissa Page - We tried Melissa Page’s mascara, indelible eyeliner, lip gloss & mineral illuminator and loved them all. The mineral illuminator has actually been my favorite under eye concealer for some time now, since I tried it last year. Melissa Page products are definitely high quality and we can recommend them. There is also a skincare line as well.

Jenulence - We also like the Jenulence mineral make-up samples as well. We tried a foundation powder and finishing powder are were very pleased with the results and quality.  Again, I’ve used Jenulence’s mineral makeup in the past and have also been very satisfied. Jenulence also offers skincare and bath & body goods.

Best Indie Body Butter/Creme Winner!

Bella Lucce - You know, I’ve never tried a Bella Lucce product that I didn’t like and the Acai Antioxidant Body Creme was not a disappointment.  It smelled divine and made my skin feel wonderful!  I’m pretty sure that you can’t go wrong with any of the Bella Lucce line though.

Best Indie Lotion Winner!

mi SPA - I liked the mi SPA body lotion in the Sake scent. It was moisturizing, but non-greasy, which made it a great all over body lotion. It’s available in a variety of scents, so take your pick!

I’m taking today off, I just need to take a day off folks for my mental health, and I’m heading to IKEA for some shopping with my sister-in-law. We are going to stock up on some stuff we need and probably get a few things we really don’t need, especially Bern, since she and my brother just moved into a great big ole house and they have LOTS of room now.

But, before I leave on our Scandinavian shopping spree,  I’d like to share the work of Matte Stephens (Matte Art) with you for today’s TGIF: Thank God for Illustration Friday post. Being it’s Vintage Week and all (or at least the end of Vintage Week), I thought his work made sense to showcase, since it it so reminiscent of the art & design heyday (at least to me anyway) of the 50s, 60s & 70s. Also, my grandmom had an owl painting in her kitchen very similar to Matte’s owl seen below. I wish I had a picture to share!

Anyway, enjoy Matte’s work.  I am a big fan, even though I haven’t yet bought a piece…I just can’t ever decide which one. Adjö until next week!

Best Indie Body Scrub Winner!

Bella Lucce - Last week I forgot to include Bella Lucce as a winner in Best Body Scrub category…totally unacceptable since I have to admit Bella Lucce is definitely one of my favorite bath & body sellers. I tried the Cranberry-Yuzu Sugar Scrub for this contest and was not disappointed.  It has a wonderful fresh clean scent, soft (yet scrubby) exfoliating action with  soothing skin softening moisturizers. Highly recommend!

Best Indie Speciality Product Winner!

Bella Lucce was also a winner of the best Specialty Product category for their Tahitian Body Glaze. Made with 100% Monoi de Tahiti oil, this body oil is totally decadent! Loved the scent and loved how it made my skin feel.

weeLuxuries - Made with  shea butter, cocoa butter, beeswax and sweet almond oil the Healing Heel Stick from weeLuxuries was a real treat.  I put it on at night, before I went to bed, and my feet were so soft the next day. Available in a variety of scents.

Best Indie Body Mist Winner!

Bobe - Tried the Cran-Orange scent of the Moisturizing Body Mist by Bobe and liked the refreshing scent and the non-sticky moisturizing aspect of this mist.

mi SPA Sugar Mochi Body Polish -  All I can say is yum!  A super scrumptious body scrub made from 100% raw sugar and Mochi, a Japanese sweet rice. Totally loved it!

Best Indie Bath Soak Winner!

Klean Milk Soaks- Tried the chocolate milk soak, which smelled like delicious hot chocolate, chocolate milk shake and chocolate brownies all rolled into one!  Left skin feeling soft and smooth. Decadent and delightful!

Best Indie Hair Care Winner!

mi SPA’s Everyday Conditioner - Paraben-free and made from natural ingredients this is just what my beleaguered summer hair needed. I’ve been trying to go all-natural with my hair care after reading about how regular hair care products strip your hair of its natural oils, this conditioner was just what I was looking for. I sampled Grass Patch, but Sweet Orange sounds delish too.

Best Body Wash/Soap Alternative Winner!

Bobe Bath Mouse -  A whipped moisturizing concoction, Bobe’s Bath Mouse was a real delight to use.  Soft and light, I used it to shave my legs with excellent results. I tried Blueberry Pop, but it’s available in almost a million scents.  Milk & Honey, Miss Figgy and Nilla Sandalwood sound just fantastic.

Best Speciality Soap Winner!

Red Leaf Soap & Shave Cube- This is the best saving soap I’ve tried by far. Made with a mix of glycerin and coconut oil, it lathers well and has a really nice consistency for shaving…sort of like a lotion, but nice and soapy. I recommend getting the holder to keep your cube nice & dry between use. It’s available in scents that appeal to both guys and girls.
