I was recently lucky enough to try some samples of Haus of Gloi bath & body goods. Their motto is ‘ethereal bathing goods’ and boy they aren’t kidding. The Honey Tree Sugar Creme Emulsifying Scrub is especially heavenly and luscious. It’s a great exfoliant and smells just divine. I used mine every day just so I could smell it!
I also tried some Haus of Gloi soaps. Made using the cold-process (no soap bases) with natural ingredients like olive oil, coconut milk, clay, essential oils, herbs and skin-safe colorants they were perfectly okay for my sensitive skin. I really like the unique offerings as well. Like absinthe, which is made with soft mint, lemon balm & wormwood. And satyr, made with blood orange, black vanilla & charcoal.
I am what Mr. Indie Fixx calls a soap snob and Gloi soaps definitely pass the soap snob test. I will be buying some for sure.

It’s getting to be the end of summer here in the northern hemisphere, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t still have summer on the brain or wear white shoes after Labor Day. You can keep the summer lovin’ alive all year round by adding some color to your outfit or by using some lovely blackberry scented body butter.
All of these wonderful goodies are from the Summertime Indie Fixx Galleria. Click on the image to visit the shops.

The latest edition of the Indie Fixx Galleria is here! The Galleria is a juried showcase of indie shops that I curate every couple of months. This latest edition of the Galleria is all about Spring and I choose shops with goods that are bright, fun, festive and just make you want to jump up & down and yell “It’s spring, it’s spring”. You will also find plenty of goods to help you shop for Mother’s Day, for grads & dads and all those spring birthdays (I know I have a lot of those coming up in May).
I am just as pleased as spiked punch with this Galleria and I do hope you visit, click around, check out a few shops (or more) and tell me what you think. Oh yea, there’s lots of coupon codes too!

Does your shampoo have more ingredients than you can count on your hands and toes? If yes, throw it out the window or give it away to someone you don’t like. I stopped using chemically laden yucky shampoo about 6 months ago and my hair has never been healthier. I can get away with not washing it every day (something I used to have to do every day), but it I wash it every other or every two days and I have super baby fine hair. I know you are probably going yuck right about now, but seriously a lot of the crap in shampoo is actually bad for your hair (and quite possibly for you too), and when you use it you get on a vicious crazy cycle where the more you shampoo the more it seems like you need to.
One shampoo I like is actually a shampoo bar by mi SPA. It has only eight ingredients and I recognize all of them. More importantly, it leaves my hair so soft and it has a very clean fresh scent. It’s only $8.50, which is less than the natural shampoos I get at my food co-op, and a little bit goes a long way even with my long hair. Try it out.
