10 things about me.

I normally do not do these kinds of things, but Amy from Handmade Evolution invited me and it fits in with my series called 10 Things.

So, here’s 10 things about me. I tried to pick things that you probably don’t already know. ;)

I’m now supposed to invite 5 people to share 10 things. I’m going to choose 5 people that I really would love to know more about and hope they decide to share…nudge, nudge. Abby from Abby Try Again, Victoria from sfgirlbybay,  Robin from A Chow Life, Irene from Bloesem, Vanessa from A Fanciful Twist.

P.S. Wednesday Indie Artist Fixx  will hopefully return next week. We are having a bit o trouble scheduling times to interview artists with the summer break and all.

Don’t forget to water the garden

If you are on the East Coast of the US, then you are experiencing an early (and possibly record-breaking) heat wave. So, don’t forget to water the garden….leave the grass alone, but not the veggies and flowers!

Guest Blog: Office Eco-Post by Katya the intern

Katya the Intern again with part 2 of my Eco-home tips & tutorials series (here’s part 1). I will be adding new posts to this series about every 2 weeks, all summer long!

Lately, I’ve been cleaning out things and revamping my desk/craft area. It helps to create a much more pleasant working experience when everything is organized. Plus, you can recycle all the junk you find in the back of your desk drawers (you know you have some!) Good for the Earth, good for your organizational sanity.

Another bonus is that rather then paying for all new notepads and desk organizers, you can dig around your house and find plenty of things to use to herd your pens, pencils and papers. By using the ‘trash’ around your house, you are helping to keep our landfills a little emptier, your wallet a little fuller and your life a little more organized.

I’ve put together a few tips, tutorials and finds to get you started on the process. Everything here is meant either to tidy up or cute up your workspace.

3. Cardboard cord holders from Sei Lifestyle
4. Recycled notepads from Paper n Stitch

No need for the stove these early dog days of summer…

Now that the vegetable season is in full swing and the temps are running 95+ degrees, we are having a lot of stove-free meals. Sometimes I grill, but facing 100+ temps for the next few days, I won’t even be doing that. No, problem though. I will just put together a few fresh salads along with some fruit and voila–dinner!

Something like what I made last Friday for dinner. May0-free red potato salad with celery, onions, dill, apple cider vinegar and olive oil. Plus, a really deliscious salad of super ripe tomatoes, cukes, rice wine vinegar, basil, garlic & olive oil. Add some diced watermelon and we had a perfect dinner.

I’m back from my 3-day July 4th weekend, a little worse for wear after too much sangria yesterday at our BBQ, but I’m back and ready to get down to business. The 1st order of which is sharing the latest Feed Your Soul: the free art project free printable with you.
