This morning, I was none too excited about my breakfast options. I just didn’t feel like oatmeal or granola cereal with almond milk. Luckily, I came across a post from Becky of Glue and Glitter for her Orange Ginger Dream Green Smoothie. I decided to give it a try and it was just what I need to break my breakfast routine. Becky actually has a book called 40 Days of Green Smoothies which contains more of her smoothie recipes. I might be giving it a try.
Here is my version of Becky’s recipe. I did make a few substitutions. Her recipe called for an orange…I only have clementines. Also, I added local honey (my sweet tooth), used a lot less ginger (a little was all I needed) and used almond milk instead of soy milk.
Orange Ginger Dream Green Smoothie

- 1 clementine, peeled and sectioned
- 1 banana
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, chopped
- 1 handful fresh parsley
- 1-1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 2-3 ice cubes
- 1 teaspoon of local honey
Directions
- Throw all of the ingredients into a blender until creamy.
Yay! I’m glad you liked it! I made it again this morning and added a little flax meal for some extra protein, and it was so good!
