I’ve got buttons!

I was recently inspired to do a crafty project involving buttons, but my button collection went by the wayside some time ago. Long story short….my missing buttons involves my kid. Anyway, suffice it to say, I was button-less. So, I put a call out on Twitter and Facebook and I am button-less no more.  Thanks to my friends Mary and Mark and to Chocolate Girl and Freshly Hatched Studio–plus, a few more people who said they were sending buttons along–I now have a very respectable button collection. My crafty friends (the C3) and I are also planning a trip to an antique button shop in Havre de Grace in the future too.

You will have to wait to see what the project(s) is…the first step was to get some buttons. Hopefully, it will turn out well so I can share it here.

Thanks again for the buttons. There’s some real treasures in there!

  1. wooow i’m looking forward to see what you have planned to make of those buttons.
    I like the look allready.;-D

  2. Oh, I’m sorry to hear about that. I have a friend who went there and said that the owner wouldn’t shut up…she kept telling stories about the buttons way beyond the time my friend wanted to hear these stories. We will probably go for a visit, bc it’s not far and is a destination that several of my craft circle want to visit. Thanks for the tip though.

  3. I love projects involving buttons. There’s a trove of shops on Etsy that sell all sorts of buttons, most of them at reasonable prices.

  4. Lovely! There is nothing more exciting than mystery buttons!

I have been to this button shop in Havre de Grace (I live in that county)and I don’t want to sound catty but I really wouldn’t recommend making a special trip for it. Yes, they have some AMAZING buttons but the owner of the shop was so rude to me when I was there and treated me like a shoplifter. I felt so uncomfortable that I left right away because I wouldn’t want to give my money to someone that treats people like that.
