This weekend I watchedThe Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. It was earth-shatteringly good or anything, but it was an enjoyable way to spend a Saturday afternoon catching up on mundane computer tasks while watching a movie. It does feature Judi Dench and Maggie Smith and I’d pretty much watch anything these two ladies are in…especially if it’s the same movie!
The movie is based on the book These Foolish Things (by Deborah Moggach) and is about a group of seniors who facing less than great options decide to “outsource” their retirement to a newly opened senior hotel India. About his less than expected hotel, the manager (played by Dev Patel who is also on The Newsroom and who is also adorable) say’s “Everything will be alright in the end. So if it’s not alright, it’s not the end yet.
I’ve decided that this is going to be my new motto in life and whether it’s true or not (see the pessimist can’t help but come out in me), I’m going to attempt to live like it is true. Maybe my inner pessimist hasn’t yet reached the end yet, so that’s why it’s always able to find fault.
Here’s a collection of autumn inspiration photos from flickr to remind us that the end of the year is near. Winter will soon be here before we know it. Oh you know that’s got me thinking about Game of Thrones now.
