Today, I’m featuring the work of artist Jordan Kay Phillip. Jordan is a maker & seller of arty things as well as an artist for hire. She recently contributed an illustration to the latest issue of Joie mag, which you can see below.
Here are some of my favorites from Jordan’s Utopia series. the series is an ongoing project based on Jordan’s childhood fantasies about what she thought womanhood would be like. She admits to being thoroughly inspired by Hollywood film and that it certainly colored her expectations of what womanhood would be like. I asked Jordan to create a piece for Joie that had the feel of this series, but that also incorporated the theme of the issue (frolic) somehow. I think she hit it spot on!
