Wednesday Indie Artist Fixx with Huiyi Tan

wednesday indie artist fixx interview

Huiyi Tan makes and sells the cutest jewelry, so I thought it might be fun to learn more about her for this week’s Wednesday Indie Artist Fixx interview series. I especially like her whimsical colored pencil and laser cut designs. So cute!

What are your inspirations in your art and life?

Everyday objects, nature, friends I met, books I read and places I’ve travelled.
What have you recently been reading, watching and listening to?
Book: Man’s Search for Himself.
Film: Source Code.
Listening to: the rain (it has been raining quite often recenlty in southwest England).

What does indie mean to you?
It means creative freedom.
If a genie came along and granted you one wish, what would it be?
I wish I could enjoy every single stage of my life as much as possible.
Cats or dogs? Coffee or tea? Morning or night? Half full or half empty? Sweet or salty? Vanilla or chocolate?
Cats. Coffee. Night. Half empty. Sweet. Vanilla.
What do you love most about your craft?
I love and enjoy turning everyday objects to beautiful wearable jewellery.
