I have to tell you that this last issue of Joie (issue #4) has been a real bitch to put together. I had several contributors back out on me at the last minute, which was horrible, but luckily I had several more step in at the last minute to take their place. Plus, I’ve been having the the back issue and sitting is a real pain in the ass…literally. And finally, for some reason this issue was just more difficult for me to layout. But, I think I pulled it all together and I must say, as always, it’s a real labor of love and I wouldn’t miss out on it for nothing!
Joie, if you didn’t already know, is my quarterly lifestyle magazine that I edit around a theme. Once I decide on a theme, I invite artists, writers & photographers to come up with articles and photo essays inspired by that theme and then I put the issue together, so all the content is completely original to the issue. Isn’t that awesome?
Take a look at Issue #4. Make sure to rate it over on Issuu and come back here and tell me what you think of it in the comments. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
