I am, by nature, a minimalist. While I admire the colorful, the embellished and the over-the-top, those clothes just don’t feel ‘me.’ My tastes trend toward neutrals and clean, uncomplicated designs, especially when combined with fine materials and textures.
MATTEO is a company with that shares my philosophy. For 15 years they have been producing sheets from the best materials available and focusing on the highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. In fact, they still sew their products right in their Los Angeles workshop and garment dye them in small lots.
But it was only recently that I discovered, in addition to their bedding, Matteo also produces clothing and accessories perfect for casual weekend lounging. Hoodies, pants, dresses and scarves are all made from 100% cotton or 100% linen and available in the range of perfectly muted MATTEO colors.
The Ada Hooded Sweatshit ($40), Eva Cotton Dress ($135) and Olivia Linen Pant ($95) are my idea of the ideal weekend wardrobe. And aren’t their product photos the best?
