I thought I would share some corners of my home with you since so many of you shared yours for the last Weekly Photo Challenge. I personally just love it when people share pics of their living spaces. It’s a window into their lives and so weirdly intimate to get such a glimpse into the lives of strangers (and of Internet friends). I think it’s only fair that I reciprocate and share with you. I don’t have many pics to share today. The light was poor (and has been poor) the day I walked around the house with the camera…not to mention the clutter and cat hair that was all over everything. That said, I do have a few images to share with you.
This is a pic taken in the kitchen of the stuff that has accumulated on top of my recipe book cabinet. There’s a couple of books the mister gifted me for Xmas: Jam It, Pickle It, Cure It: And Other Cooking Projects by Karen Solomon and The Art of Simple Food: Notes, Lessons, and Recipes from a Delicious Revolution by Alice Waters. I have yet to make anything from either of them, but they both have many pages marked with post-its.
There’s also a print from Sharon Montrose (a baby fox, of course), that I still need to get framed, as well as some lovely white roses I bought for myself this week.
I have those white roses in mason jars all over the kitchen.
This ceramic owl usually lives on the window sill in my office, right in front of where I sit. Right now, he is on the kitchen table since I was using him to sketch for my Alicia Burke class… that’s where the best light is.
This little guy used to belong to my grandmother. He is artisan made. It was from Grandmom that I think I got my love for artist made goods.
I’m forcing some hyacinths and tulips inside. I can’t wait for the scent of the hyacinths to fill the house. I will be sharing more of these once they bloom for sure.
This is the view I see every day in my office. A couple of prints from The Black Apple as well as an Indie Fixx banner made for me by my penpal. She is a real sweety. 😉
If you are interested in getting a penpal, visit my Penpal Project and join the group!
That’s it for the week. I’m off this morning to visit some old friends to talk about a possible new project with them. Exciting, potentially. After that, I will be picking up my nephew and spending the day with him. Then it’s the weekend. Maybe a walk in woods, if it gets warm enough, dinner out with my mister and also some work thrown in there too. See you on Monday!
Is there anything better than the smell of hyacinths? Roll on Spring! Lovely photos – I love the little owl, I’ve got a minor obsession with them!
I loved the owl is soooo cute! 🙂
