taking chances and sketchbook delight

sketchbook delight art class with artist alisa burker

I just signed up for Alisa Burke’s Sketchbook Delight online art class. I’m not an artist, but I love doing arty things.  I can’t draw or sketch all that well, but I’m a firm believer that anyone can do both with practice. I’ve toyed around with the idea of taking some art classes at our local university (especially since I could go for free, as the mister works at our uni), but I feel like I might be a little overwhelmed. Alisa’s Sketchbook Delight class seems like the perfect way to get my feet wet.

If you are interested in signing up, the 5 week class doesn’t start until February 7th. The fee is $50. More info here.

I’m a little nervous about it, but one of my resolutions for this year is to take more chances…and that’s what I am gonna do! Thanks to Jan from Daisy Jainie for the nod.

  1. Thanks for this post, I received a new Sketchbook for Christmas and having been waiting to use it. So I signed up for the course I really want to improve my sketches. Your blog and all the Feed Your Soul artist are great inspiration 🙂

  2. Jen – I enjoy your blog! When I read this post, it immediately reminded me of a magnet I have on the “inspiration board” in my studio. “Do one thing everyday that scares you.” Bravo on taking that first step. Bet you’ll love it! I signed up for a local course in woodworking starting next month. Scary, me with power tools!!!
