Handmade holidays: Russian Tea Cakes

FacebookTwitterPinterestTumblrBookmark/FavoritesEmailPrintFriendlyShare

Today I made some Russian Tea Cake cookies (also called Mexican Wedding Cookies & Snowballs). There are some cookies that are just quintessentially ‘Christmas Cookies’ and these are it in our house. They are perfect with tea and coffee. yum.

I used this recipe from imagine childhood (thanks to Soule Mama via twitter). I did substitute almond extract for the vanilla though and used a little less sugar.

What do you think are the quintessential Christmas cookies?

  2. We’re not much of a cookie family, but Christmas without a Tres Leches cake is unthinkable.

  3. My mom makes these every Christmas and stores them in the same cookie tin that HER grandmother used for her Russian tea balls.
