It’s that time of year again – you know the one I mean…no, not the shopping, or the food or the filling out of wish-lists. It’s time for all the holiday television specials!  Those classic stop-animation delights that have enthralled us since the 60s! My favorite has always been “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” with its band of misfits.

Burl Ives sings the song, Silver and Gold in that classic, and it’s always the song I hum to myself as I decorate my Christmas tree.  With that in mind, I headed over to my favorite indie shops at Etsy, and picked out a few silver and gold trinkets to liven up your own holiday celebrations.

Everyone needs a little glitter this time of year…

About the contributor: Diahn Ott is an eclectic, self-taught artist, working primarily in water-based media such as gouache, watercolor and acrylics. She loves combining paints with ink, images with words, and natural with industrial elements. What separates Diahn from other artists is her ability to locate, and accentuate, the beauty in the ordinary by manipulating layered elements with the purity of line work. Her work can be viewed on her blog, Ottwork  and purchased at her recently opened Etsy shop, Ottwork Studios
