My recession garden: Black-eyed Susans & Marigolds

besmarigolds.jpg

Here are some of the flowers from my garden that I planted for the bees & butterflies.  They have been enjoying them and so have I. I have had no trouble keeping my vases full and it’s so lovely to have some color in the house with flowers I have grown myself…even if the marigolds do smell a little strong!

Are you growing flowers in your garden? If so, please share.

  1. no flowers in the veggie garden yet… but i am planning on adding some when i plant the next batch of veggies. the bugs have been terrible this year… and apparently some flowers can really help with this.

  2. I was going to do sunflowers as well, but my neighbor is a bird nut and I don’t think they would last…

  3. Gorgeous! We planted a large row of sunflowers but a pesky squirrel ate them all! I love having fresh flowers in the house too, yours look so pretty!
