Another new feature today…I know that this is like the 3rd one is a month (She’s Crafty — When They Were Kids), but I love change and newness in general. I guess it’s my short attention span…I get bored so easily. Anyway, this new feature is not boring at all. It’s called Tasty Bits and I will be sharing shops that make and sell handmade edibles. I will highlight edibles of all kinds…teas, sweets, dips, whatever I come across. I will be sampling all the edibles as well, so you can be sure that anything I feature has passed my standards for quality, freshness, appeal and more.
My first sample for the new feature came from Lilith’s Apothecary and was for Lavender Infused Honey. This herbal honey is made with raw red clover honey and organic lavender blossoms and can be eaten or used as a facial mask. I chose to eat mine, because I am not one to pass up good quality honey.
In fact, I decided to use it to make a tasty treat—a fruit sauce for ice cream. So yummy! I made a simple syrup with honey and hot water and added strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. You can’t see much of the sauce in the picture below, but let me tell you it was good and syrupy and sweet and lavendery, but not too much. I make fruit sauce all the time w/ honey, but the lavender added another layer of flavor that just helped the whole thing pop. Even Mr. Indie Fixx liked it.
In addition to herbal honeys, Lilith’s Apothecary offers soaps, teas, lotions and all types of bath & body goodness. I love all the gift sets and they are so reasonably priced. If you are interested in the honey, you can find it here.
If you make & sell your own tasty treats and want to send me a sample, just send me an email.
SO delighted to be featured on Indie Fixx. This is a wonderfully locally sourced honey with all the yummy goodness that raw honey offers. The addition of lavender gives it extra digestive, and soothing qualities. Yeah for honey!
This might just be my favorite new feature evah! YUM!
I recently discovered artisan honey – so so so good, so addicting. Your pictures are making my mouth water.
Yum! That ice cream dish looks fab.
I love that the honey has multiple uses too, very clever!
