TGIF: Thank God for Illustration Friday – Floating Buildings

More TGIF: Thank God for Illustration Friday art faves from my Twitter followers. Today’s artist is Mattias Adolfsson and was suggested by angel*treats.

I really like his Floating Building Series, which can be seen in his Etsy Shop. They remind me of several different movies and books, but the titles totally escape me. Can anyone help jog my memory?

You should totally follow me on Twitter, btw.  I chatter incessantly over there about lots of random stuff!

*** edited: The Adventures of Baron Munchausen is one of them. Thanks to Heather from Skinny LaMinx!

  2. What a wonderful etsy shop. I’ve already hearted it. I love those pictures and wouldn’t mind a few for my place. Definitely something to purchase when I get some extra dough :) They remind me of Howl’s Moving Castle. Such imagination…. wonderful.

  5. Ooooh – They remind me of the animated movie “Castle in the Sky” by Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. I looooove all of his movies, especially “Howl’s Moving Castle.” They are so visually rich – just like these gorgeous illustrations.
