Best of Indie Bath & Body: Soap & Lip Balm

Back in the summer,  I asked indie bath & body sellers to send me samples of their products to be judged for the Best of Indie Bath & Body Contest. I wanted to find the best indie body care products to help you, the indie shopper, make informed decisions about your bath & body purchases and to maybe help you find some new sellers. Well months later, the other two judges and myself have finally be able to try all the samples and decide on the winners.

On Fridays over the next 6 weeks, I will be sharing those winners with you, 2-3 categories at a time.  Some categories will have several winners, while others may only have one. This is dependent upon the overall quality and the number of submissions we received for certain categories. Shops were able to decide which categories they wanted to enter. Speaking of which, you can see a list of all the entrants below.  Go check ’em out!

The first categories to be revealed are the Soap & Lip Balm categories.  I judged these two categories myself and anyone who knows me, knows I am serious about my soap and lip balm.  That said, it was really difficult to choose the winners.

Without further adieu, here are the winners:

Best Indie Soap Winners!

BohBon Soap – Loved the way their soap made my skin feel and I really loved that I could pronounce all the ingredients on the label! I tried the Bergamot Mint Soap & the Earth Mama Goat Milk. Both are just simple & refreshing soap.

Biggs and Featherbelle – I also liked their soaps for the all-natural ingredients.   My skin just felt so soft, clean and just soothed after using the Biggs & Fetherbelle soaps…my skin kinda just felted loved in general.  I tried the Barbados, bar-tender and Barlesque soaps and would use them all again.  In fact, I’m gonna place an order!

Soap Honorable mentions go to:

Frost Fish Cove Soaps

Best Indie Lip Balm Winners!

Bobe – I really liked the consistency of this lip balm.  It’s not too soft and not too hard.  I also really liked the pomegranate flavor, but if pomegranate isn’t your thing it comes in scads of different flavors.

Biggs & Featherbelle – Mr. Indie Fixx even liked the Soul Kiss lip balm…what more can I say about it than that!

I love this soap, it smells wonderful and is so lathery. The oatgoat is soothing to dry skin (think winter) and poppymint exfoliates and smells so invigorating. Oh, and don’t forget the lavender too! I could go on and on.
