Guest Blog: Fashionably Indie by Victoria Everman – Rubypearl

by guest contributor Victoria Everman

Ethereal, one of a kind, wearable art – these are just a few of the phrases that clearly describe the creations of Sunny Haralson a.k.a rubypearl. Since 2001, Texas-native Sunny has been using her fine arts training from the Art Institute of Chicago and the School of Visual Arts in New York City to create feminine dresses and tops for women and little girls. Custom orders are a personal pleasure for her, with every piece being made from recycled slips and scarves.

In addition to creating truly unique items for your closet, Sunny is also a painter – her work has been featured in galleries all over Texas. In 2002, she was chosen Gen Art’s Chrysler Designer of the Year, leading to a slew of new clients including other artists and musicians. Both her fashion items and collectible paintings are available via her Etsy store. You can also check out her creative process thanks to a video on YouTube.
