So, the Art Star Craft Bazaar was this weekend in Philly and I was there as a vendor with the Indie Fixx Shop…at least I was there on Sunday. Saturday was stormy, so I elected not to go be a lightening rod and risk my stuff getting all damaged from the rain. Sunday was totally FABULOUS though and I am so glad that I did this show. I was a little disappointed that I was so busy, that I really did not get a chance to walk around and visit and shop. You know I love to shop indie and there were also so many people I wanted to meet who I’ve only know from online land. Well, maybe next year I will just have to elect to be a shopper rather than a participant.
Here are a couple of pictures of some of my neighbors and their booths.
Here’s Shawnna and Michael from Spaghetti Kiss and Pink Kiss Ceramics. Michael hand prints tees with his amazing original illustrations and Mr. Indie Fixx is the proud owner of Michael’s Pirate Ship design. Shawnna is a super talented ceramist and I am always eying her jewelry pieces and ceramic homewares. Hmm, my birthday is coming up next month…hint, hint. Both Shawna and Michael will be at the Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn on June 14th & 15th.
I got to meet Renee of Uglykitty who I have known via email for about a year now. Renee makes and sells buttons, stationery, pincushions and more and it was cool to be right across the way from her. One of my favorite things in the world is my Uglykitty address file, which is made from a recipe box and lots and lots of recycled paper as the card files. I blogged about it here last year.
I also got to meet Maggie and Michael of Supermaggie, which was a real treat! As a long time fan it was kinda like meeting rock stars. 🙂 Here’s Michael from Supermaggie. Maggie and Michael were all the up from Louisiana and will also be at the Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn on June 14th & 15th.
Here’s Laura’s booth of Dogbone Art as well. Laura sells tees, totes, pins and plush that are all doggone cute! I can’t decide whether her Nervous Robot tote bags or her Pirate Cupcake tee are cuter.
Finally, here is Anna’s booth of Bunny Butt Apothecary’s. Anna sells some kickass whipped shea body butters, which sadly are temporarily unavailable during the summer, since they do tend to get melty very easily when shipped. Never fear though, you can still shop Anna’s selection of soaps, body polish, lip balm, perfume mists and more. Bunny Butt will also be at the Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn on June 14th & 15th.
ah! I shopped art star Saturday only, and yours was a booth I was sad to miss when our visit got chopped short (the young daughters were unimpressed with the rain…). I’m a bit comforted that I couldn’t have found indiefixx anyway, but the sunny photos…
hope it went well for you.
