Ode to a peach…

I share with you two haiku I wrote to celebrate peach season.

Fuzz makes my lips hurt
I dare to eat you anyway
Juicy, plump, ripe heaven

AND

Summertime ripe peach
Juicy hands, lips, chin and feet
A bushel to eat

Do you love peaches? Want to share your love of peaches? Leave a comment with recipes, links to peach products, links to pictures of you eating a peach, your own haiku or whatever you have to celebrate the glorious peach.

This post is dedicated to my little sister, the biggest peach fiend I know. I love ya sis! πŸ˜‰

  1. Yep even grapes! I am like you, I just can’t wait that long!
Also a big fan of James and the Giant Peach, I can see the similarities.
    Peachy wishes

  2. Ha funnily enough we just devoured 4 peaches and then clicked to you for some Indie Fixx goodness and you were enjoying the same yumminess.
Like most fruits, here in Japan, the skin is never eaten always peeled off (????? yes even on grapes!) Although I am an Aussie and I think the skin is essential for good insides so often leave it on much to Masao’s disgust. πŸ˜‰
I am sure you know the story of Momotaro, the Peach Boy. I can’t help but think of this story every time I chomp into a juicy peach! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Momotaro
Your Haiku are gorgeous by the way, you should enter our Haiku comp to win some goodies!
    Tokyo wishes,

  3. My husband actually says that it’s only me and that peach fuzz does not hurt anyone else’s lips or mouth. His “theory”, if I may call it that, is that I am weird. I always thought that peach fuzz hurt everyone’s mouth and that is just the price you pay for deliciousness. I wonder if this is true or if you and I are weird Rachael.

My brother doesn’t eat bananas or melons for the same reason. Bananas bother me a little, but again I am not deterred by a little pain when faced with juicy fruit goodness.

I’d love some peach cobbler right about now! When will you be over?

  5. Peach fuzz makes my teeth hurt, too! It actually makes my whole mouth burn– teeth, gums, tongue, everything. And apple (skin) makes me vomit. Nice, no?

  6. What beautiful peachy goodness! Thank you for sharing these – I’m off to see more of these artists’ work.

Makes me want a peach cobbler, right now!
