Hot date

I love the clever and slightly irreverent cards at Side Pony. In fact, I’m thinking about getting one up for my upcoming wedding anniversary (it’s been 150 years so far, if you’re curious), since I don’t really do those mushy cards, but I can’t decide. So, I need a little help.

I just wanna say, that the one person who chose “What are you crazy? At your age you may break a hip or somthing” is my little sister. Thanks. sis! I’m really not that old, ya know. ;)

Skyscraper

Jewelry made from sterling silver and concrete by tam aura designs! I’m normally not a very big ring person, but I think I would wear one of these rings–I like the slimmer style on the left. The tam aura designs line is created by designer Tami Brooks using unusual materials and drawing inspiration from architecture.

Pretty and kicky

Keyka Lou is offering 20% off all purchases. I love Keyka Lou’s clutches and moleskine covers. Check ‘em out, you won’t be disappointed.

Baby Garbo

Now this is cute and I just might have to get this for my future neice… Baby Garbo Lime and Petal Hat from Aimee Michele.

Email down…

I’ve been having email problems all day, so if you’ve sent me an email today please resend it using my alternate addy indiefixx [@] gmail.com.

The luxe life

I am expecting a new niece in July and I’m supposed to be looking for a “welcome to the world” gift but I keep allowing myself to be sidetracked…I really am a very bad auntie. I was at least looking for yarn to maybe make something with when I stumbled across my latest distraction this super pretty spring poppy scarfaletta by Luxe. I will be sure to keep you posted on what I come up with for a baby gift.

Revolutionary Bags

Why are there so many cool bags out there in the world? I mean it really is a good thing, but I am like a kid in a candy store, “You mean I have to pick just one thing? It’s just not fair (stamps foot)!” My latest discovery is Silent Revolution, started by Andrea and Kyriakos Toyias, a husband and wife team who wanted to create a line of bags that reflected their interests and design sensibilities. Their designs combine both form and function and although they look super cool, they are designed to be used.  Both guys and girls will find something they like at Silent Revolution.  There’s also a clothing line in the works.

Little greetings

Someone sent me a mini card a couple of weeks ago and I thought it was just the cutest thing ever. I decided to get some myself, so I visited Etsy and discovered a plethora of the little cuties. I’ve featured some of my favorites by Shabby Cottage Studio, AJK Artistry, Prettyful, Sugarcube Design, Chick Rocks, Ignafruit, Run Alice Run Designs and Ink & Wit.

Your Perfect Bag!

I know you don’t settle for cookie cutter fashion and style, that’s why you shop indie, and that’s why I thought you’d like to hear about the Design Your Own Bags at August Lately. You choose the style and the fabrics to create your dream bag. Whether you’d like a Shoulder Bag, Library Tote, Wristlet, Clutch or all the above, August Lately has your perfect bag. The fabric choices are so pretty! My favorites are Mocha Garden, Turquoise Garden, Nutmeg Floral and Black and White. I could use a Shoulder Tote, Library Bag, Dainty Clutch and Wristlet in those colors, because you know I never have enough bags!

All tied up

New from the indie kitchen of Bakesale DesignsNecktie Chokers made from repurposed ties. They are only $12 and there’s a variety of styles and colors to choose from. Bakesale Designs also offers scarves, pins, bags. I have a Bangle Bag, which I’ve featured before, and I love it.

Update

**EDITED** I’m back and everything is back to normal.  Thanks for being patient.  I am slowly reading and responding to all your emails.

There’s been a family emergency and posting will be sporadic for the next 1-2 days. Also, I’m already behind in my email, so if you’ve tried to contact me, please be patient it may take me longer to get back to you than usual.

In the meantime, check out the archives to catch up on all the posts you’ve missed. Plus, take a look at Poppy Talk’s National Stationery Show Guide.

Shopping indie style

My purchases this week include: Vine Necklace and Echo bag from IMOO, Pirate Ship tote from Bond Girl (I know that one is on my birthday wish list–I was a bad girl and couldn’t wait to get it), and the Freshly Sliced Art Coloring book from Wolfie and the Sneak. I just don’t talk the talk, I shop the shop. As I told my husband, I have to buy all these cool indie products because it’s research for the blog. ;)
