A little birdie told me

So cute for spring and from Sprout Studio. Make sure to check out the handmade lovelies.

Great Gifts!

I received a tip about Rust Designs this morning and I just had to share it right away! Rust Designs makes small-batch specialty ceramic products including dinnerware and decorative objects. They have a great personalized gift line for births and birthdays, weddings and anniversaries, and other special occasions. I really like the personalized family tree plate, the personalized mugs, the personalized silhouette plates, and the blossoms dinnerware.

Mi Scent

In an effort to buy more indie, as opposed to big box store, products I am trying to find a new perfume to replace the one that I’ve used for about 6 years (So Pink by Gap). I was checking out mi SPA’s great line of bath and body products and saw that they have a Roll-on Perfume, so I thought I would try it out. I tried the JUK scent, which is a delicious blend of bamboo and cedar entwined with lemon, tangerine & ginger. I like clean, refreshing scents and this one fits the bill. If JUK doesn’t sound like your thing, try Chocolate Truffles. Mango Iced Tea, Sake (I want to try that one next), Peony Blossoms, Lychee, Yuzu or Green Tea. The roll-on perfume is great for your purse and they are only $12.50, so you can afford to buy several and match your scent to your mood.

Two turn tables and a microphone

I received my Sampler in the mail the other day and looking through my goodies I came across a postcard from Art Ghost. Seattle artists and independent designers, Eric Adler and Liz Wong are the talents behind Art Ghost and I am just smitten with their fun, quirky style. I really like the adorable Hey DJ! Striped Handmade Purse by Liz Wong. Their greeting cards are also just the kind of off-beat cards I like to give, especially Drink to the Pain and I Can’t Wait For the Valium to Hit.

All wrapped up!

In the last installment in my Cover Yourself Spring Fashion series I bring you, ANGeLRoX. Created by the design talent of Roxi Suger, the ANGeLRoX line embodies comfort, versatility and timeless style. Her wrap dress/skirt/cape/shrug is designed to be worn in any way that you can imagine. Made of rayon jersey, it looks like the most comfortable garment in the entire world. I love that you can inflect your own personal style into your look, not by adding accessories or other clothing pieces, but by varying how you wear the wrap. It’s available in black, slate, granite, steel blue and moss. Add a little versatility to your wardrobe!

Cover Yourself Swimwear

When Pamela of Poppi Swim first contacted me about her swimsuit line back in January, I thought, “There is no way in hell that my readers what to hear about swimwear right now when it’s 150 degrees below zero and there’s twelve feet of snow outside. I will hold onto this little gem.”

But now, with the temperatures warming it seems entirely possible that we may once again desire to shed our clothing, throw on our suits, and head to the beach or the pool. Of course, you need the perfect suit and with figure flattering retro-inspired styles, Poppi Swim has the perfect suit for every woman out there. There are one and two piece styles designed not only look good around the pool, but actually be comfortable and functional. Available in sizes XS-XL with custom-sizing as well.

Cover Yourself like Kate

Looking for a tailored look, but don’t want to sacrifice comfort this season, then try the designs of Greenbaum Clothing. They are very Kate Hepburn, but with completely modern sensibilities like a little bit of added stretch and way more skin bared than Kate ever dared. The designer Lisa Greenbaum is another super talented designer from Canada and her designs can be found online and in boutiques in both the US and Canada.

Cover Yourself Pretty!

More spring fashion for ya! The designs of Yu Clothing are just so pretty, but not in a bland pretty way like, “Oh that’s so pretty.” But more like, “OMG, that is so kick ass pretty that I just have to own it!” Sarah Yu, the designer of the Yu Clothing line, really seems to know how to make clothes that accentuate a woman’s body in just the right ways. Wow, I think I’m channeling Michael Kors from Project Runway!

Cover Yourself Part Four

If you have to cover your nakedness, you might as well do it in style with the designs of the independent couture house of aelisheva. The designs pictured are from the 2006 and 2007 collections and are available online at Funky Utopia and Joia Style Studio.

Cover Yourself III

For Part Three of my “because you can’t go naked” series on spring fashion, I present you, Twospace. The artistic dynamic duo behind Twospace, produce modern and fashionable, yet totally appealing and wearable designs. The Twospace Spring Line is no different. It’s cute, but completely sophisticated and the designs look like would be feel like a second skin. This is fashion that really is ready to wear.

Cover Yourself Deux

More “because you can’t go naked” suggestions–the Spring and Summer Collections from Gina Michele. Please get yourself some decent clothes, so you don’t have to stay home from the party because you have nothing to wear!

Cover yourself

Because you can’t run around naked this spring. You…just…can’t. Dress yourself in the very lovely designs by Allison Smith of Allison Wonderland. Available at boutiques in Canada or at select boutiques online.

Need something to decorate your little hut?

I just love the Wall Art available at A Little Hut. Patricia Zapata, the artist behind A Little Hut, block prints her original designs onto 100% linen and then embroiders them with subtle little details. There are three different designs in the series, so buy one if you only have little nook to fill or buy the series if you need to fill a large space.

It’s like buttah!

Try this Latin Butter Crème by Sylvia Marcos, because you know you are going to be showing a lot of skin in a couple of months. It contains three different nourishing natural butters (shea butter, cocoa butter, and mango butter) and will make your skin feel heavenly.  Be prepared to become addicted to this product, it’s that good.

It’s war, mother nature!

Well, old mother nature did it to us again.  She lulled us into thinking spring was here, then WHAMMO she brings back winter with a vengeance.  I don’t know about where you live, but there’s 3 inches of ice covering everything outside here.  Well, I’m pissed and I’m fighting back.  I see your late winter Arctic blast and I raise you one beautiful flower pendant necklace by Fuss.

In addition to being ammunition in my battle with mother nature, Fuss makes some really stunning jewelry designs.  I am a huge fan their uniquely gorgeous necklaces.

Now, I’m off to find some more ammo!

Grow yourself a bag collection

I require one of each of these bags by bloom in every available color!
