Last in our Sampler contributor series.
From Gift Define for Halloween are these super cute Halloween novelty dolls. I like Marlett the Halloweetch because she has pigtails and an impish look. If you are looking to give sugar-free Halloween goodies to your special goblins, both the big and little varieties, be sure to take a look at Gift Define for other really cute treats without the tricks.

B.Pure body products are scrumptiously delicious and feel so wonderful that you are sure that they are too good for likes of you. I love the body crèmes, they are so thick and rich and I just love the way my skin feels whenever I use them. The fragrances are sinfully delightful! My favorite is Charleston, an herbal blend of sandalwood and lavender. I also really like Palm Springs, which is a fresh, fruity pomegranate scent. You can also get your scent of choice in body wash, bubble bath, body lotion and roll-on perfume. I like to use the body crème and perfume in the same scent for the maximum effect! B.Pure also offers candles and lip balms in an array of thoroughly tempting cocktail flavors, including mojito, cosmo and mai tai. B.pure’s philosophy is to create exceptional, pure products and I say that they are truly wonderful.

Number four in the Sampler contributor series.
I am of the opinion that one cannot have too many buttons. I like to put buttons on my fabric purses and on my corduroy jacket. They also make really cute package toppers and card inserts. I also like to give buttons as special no-occasion gifts—you know, “Here’s a really cute button, just because I love you” kind of gift. The buttons over at Kept Fresh are just the kind of buttons I like too. I can think of several people to whom I would like to make gifts of the Crabby and Sucker buttons. Kept Fresh also offers t-shirts, cards and prints.

Numéro trois in the Sampler series.
In my Sampler, there was the cutest etched glass pin by Bread and Badger. I was intrigued so I headed on over to breadandbadger.com and found more cute etched glass pins! I received the Tree pin in my Sampler, but I am thinking about getting the Octopus, Moth and Skull and Crossbones. If pins aren’t your thing, you can choose the same designs as a pendant or as a magnet. Bread and Badger also offers etched glass vases, candleholders and other glass home décor products.

The next featured September Sampler contributor is Lab Seven Apothecary.
When I first opened my Sampler I was hit with the most wonderful smell– I had to tear through it to discover what it was that smelled so divine. I finally discovered that it was the White Tea and Ginger Soap made by Lab Seven Apothecary. It has a clean, fresh, slightly flowery smell and I can’t wait to try my sample out in the shower.
I’ve tried other Lab Seven products in the past. I really like Tuberose Moss Aromatic Jar. This may be TMI, but I have several kitties and as anyone with kitties knows, it is a struggle sometimes to keep your home smelling fresh. I put the Tuberose Moss Aromatic Jar in the laundry room where the litter pan is kept, and no matter what the kitties did in there all I smelled was scent from the jar. Works better than candles or any of those products you buy with harsh chemicals.
Be sure to check out Lab Seven Apothecary’s other bath & body and room fragrance products.

I am so ready for cooler weather. Don’t get me wrong, I love summer—it is my favorite season climate wise, but autumn is my favorite season for fashion. In the summer I wear whatever will keep me cool, but in autumn I can worry more about the style of my clothes rather than the necessity of them. The fashions this autumn have not been letting me down either. I am loving these scarflettes from Adorneya. It’s a little too early for big heavy scarves, but on cooler evenings, it would be nice to have one of these wrapped around your neck. I like both the blue and green and think they would look great paired with my chocolate corduroy jacket.
Also new for fall from Georgia Hadley, Adorneya’s designer, are customizable bags in the most scrumptious fall fabrics. I need the Mini Messenger in the brown/autumn floral pattern! Also customizable are the Pocket Clutch and the most adorable Wristlet, which has a removable handle. You must take a look at the available fabrics—they are gorgeous.

The first featured designer from the September Sampler.
You know, if you regularly read my blog, that I have a thing for fabric bags. I can’t get enough of them. I am a vegetarian and I don’t like to purchase leather unnecessarily, so fabric bags allow me to realize my bag fetish while staying true to my ideals. Plus I am a rather a plain dresser—I prefer solids and like to kick it up a notch with my accessories and fabric bags are perfect because of the limitless fabric choices.
I think I could really add some accessory flair to some of my outfits this fall with the fall line from Holland Cox. Valerie Williams the designer of Holland Cox creates simple, yet stylishly elegant bags. I love the clean lines, unique silhouettes and the out of the ordinary fabrics. Valerie thinks that fashion is about being yourself while looking fabulous and not about looking like everybody else. I would have to agree with her and if you do too, head on over to Holland Cox and make your own fashion.

This week is going to be Sampler week at Indie Fixx. Each day I will feature one of the talented Sampler contributors for September. I just received my September Sampler in the mail yesterday and it’s packed full of totally indie goodness.
“What is the Sampler,” you ask?
Each month, indie crafters, artists, shops, zines and record labels who run web-based businesses send samples to the Sampler. They are then divvied up and sent out to Sampler Subscribers, other Sampler Contributors and members of the Media.
“How do I get in on this Sampler deal,” you wonder? If you want to sign up for a subscription or contribute to the Sampler, head on over the Sampler site and read more about it. If you are an indie artist it is a great way to promote your products and if you are an indie shopper it is one the best ways I know to find out about the neatest indie stuff around.
Pictured above is the Sampler I received. Check out the contributor page to see some of the wonderful indie donators who are included in my Sampler.

I am in love with the creations by bag designer, Dawn Zidonis. Available at There She Goes, out of 15 bags offered, I need to own at least 9 of them and I would gladly give up any of my prized possessions to own just one. My favorite is the Pretty Army Duffel Bag—it’s girly, but tuff—just like me. Made from lemongrass green tweed fabric, the Lemongrass is totally perfect for the season. I think this one really fits in with the clothing palettes of the fall fashions. For a completely girly look, I like the Petals Clutch—so pretty and feminine. If you like that look, but need a bigger bag, check out the Petals Tote. It’s pretty too, but you could fit your laptop in it or a good book. I am definitely going to be keeping tabs on this designer to see what she comes up with next.

Every Halloween when I was a kid, actually until I was in my twenties, my Grandmom would send me a Halloween card with pumpkin money in it. Sometimes, she would include stickers, but the cards were always very cheesy. I always kept the money and stickers and tossed the cards. Now maybe if Shades of Violet had been around back in the day, I might have kept the cards and tossed the stickers and money. I am totally loving the Simon and Parker cards. Make sure no one pitches your cards this Halloween and visit Shades of Violet.

Ashley Alexander, the designer behind I’m Smitten, hopes to help us re-establish some of the magic we saw in the world as children by making things that are a little bit pretty and a little bit strange. I think Ashley is successful in her endeavor, since to me I’m Smitten is the embodiment of magic. I’ve long coveted an Antler Girl Tote Bag and I just adore her Card and Button designs. I think we all need a little more magic in our lives—don’t you?

I have this thing—I don’t like to sleep on patterned sheets—I can “feel” the designs even in the dark and I can’t fall asleep. I know it’s weird, but I like plain sheets—they are just so much more relaxing to me. I do like plain, but not boring bedding, so when I saw these sheet sets from Unfed, I flipped. They are made from 400-thread count Egyptian cotton, which is my favorite, with original embroidered designs on the pillowcases. The designs are really cool—I like the Loretta, Doris, Walking Man and Sleep designs. Unfed also offers clothing, home décor items, and computer and gadget cases. Created by Jason Laan and Maureen Kennedy, Unfed’s designs are a collection of classic products with urban appeal.

New from 2 Fresh Petunias is the Sophisticate Handbag. Available in a variety of gorgeous fabrics just perfect for fall, the Sophisticate is roomy enough to carry all your necessities (maybe even a small paperback book too—always important to me). My favorites include the African Chocolates and the Sweet Confection bags. I am a sucker for geometric prints and I love the juxtaposition of the blocky geo print and the frilly bow of African Chocolates–it’s a little bit classy and a little bit girly. The chocolate corduroy of the Sweet Confection bag is just lovely and really has me wishing for one of those fall days when the leaves are blowing around and the air is all crisp and chilly. I own a different style 2 Fresh Petunias bag and it is one of my favorite possessions. Her fabrics are even more beautiful in person and the quality of her bags is amazing.

Make your own fashion statement with the new addition from Camp Apparel, the barcode bag. Available in color combinations of grey and black and pink and green, you have a choice between the clutch or the pouch style. They are made from ultrasuede, so you can have the look without all the fuss. Tori Gardner, the designer behind Camp Apparel, describes Camp Apparel’s design concept as a fusion of high with low, prep with kitsch, and classic with trendy–sounds like something for everyone.

I’m going to be attending some concerts this month and I am looking for some really cool rock-roll wrist cuffs to wear. I found so many, now I don’t know which one to get. Please, help me decide. Leave a comment with your choice or if you are too shy, send me an email.
I love all the cuffs at Cuff Luv, but I think I like the ivory Julie cuff the best. It’s just damn pretty.
The XXX wrist cuff from Miss at Cut + Paste is a little bit more rock-n-roll.
Available at Plain Mabel and made by Coffee Drinker are these absolutely adorable retro vinyl Cassette Wrist Cuffs. Takes me back to the day…
Love these hand screened vinyl cuffs By Fluffy Co and available at Copacetique. I like both the Silver Trees and the Turntable cuffs.
I absolutely covet the Kimono wrist cuffs by Anaromero Design. Adjustable fabric cuff in vibrant fabrics with grosgrain ribbon. Not very rock-n-roll, but they are gorgeous!

Skyberry Studios offers a new collection of stunning glass flatware by artist Carrie Hartley. The handles are made from Moretti glass using lamp work techniques, while the flatware itself is steel. The colors and patterns are vibrant and thoroughly visually interesting. I don’t always like things matchy-matchy, so what I love best about her collection is that you can mix and match your designs of choice—the only limit is your imagination.
